Privacy policy

Ampworth has no accounts, sets no cookies and keeps no record of what you calculate. This page sets out the little it does collect.

Last updated 17 October 2026.

Who runs the site

Ampworth is run by Samyukti, which is responsible for the personal data described here. For anything to do with this policy, email support@ampworth.com.

What the site does not collect

  • There are no accounts, sign-ups or keys, on the pages, the JSON API or the MCP servers.
  • The site sets no cookies and stores nothing in your browser.
  • What you type into a calculator form, and the body of an API or MCP request, is worked out in memory and then discarded. It isn't saved anywhere.
  • Nothing is sold, and nothing is shared for advertising.

The request log

Like any web server, the site keeps a log of the requests it answers. Each entry records the time, your IP address, the address you asked for (including anything after the ?), the response status and size, the page that linked you there, and the browser or program you used.

A calculator's inputs appear in this log only if they are in the address itself. That happens when you open a link to a calculator result, such as one an assistant has made for you. A search term appears in the same way. Inputs sent through the calculator form, or in the body of an API or MCP request, are not logged.

The log is kept for 30 days and then deleted. It's used to keep the site running, to find faults, to see which pages are read, and to spot and block abuse.

To stop any one address overloading the site, the server also counts requests per IP address. The count is held in memory for about a minute and never written down.

Analytics

The pages use Google Analytics to count visits, configured so that it sets no cookies and stores nothing in your browser. Google signals and all advertising features are turned off. Google receives the page address, the page that linked to it, your browser and device type, and an approximate location derived from your IP address. Google Analytics doesn't store IP addresses. Because nothing identifies you between visits, every visit counts as a new one.

The JSON API and the MCP servers don't use analytics. To block Google Analytics on the pages, use your browser's tracking protection or a content blocker; the site works the same without it. Google's own handling of this data is covered by the Google privacy policy.

Where the data is held

The site runs on Google Cloud. The server and its request log are in Google's London region. Pages pass through Firebase Hosting, Google's content delivery network, which serves them from locations around the world. Google processes this data on Samyukti's behalf.

Why it's collected

Under UK data protection law, the basis for the request log and the analytics is legitimate interests: running a reliable and secure site, and understanding which parts of it are useful.

Your rights

You can ask for a copy of personal data held about you, ask for it to be corrected or deleted, or object to its use. Email support@ampworth.com. Because the site has no accounts, the only way to find your entries in the request log is by IP address and time, so include those if you can. Entries are deleted after 30 days in any case.

If you're unhappy with the answer, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office.

Children

The site isn't aimed at children and doesn't knowingly collect data about them.

Changes to this policy

If what the site collects changes, this page changes with it, and the date at the top is updated. Significant changes are also listed in the release notes.
